Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox is a Scottish born and bred singer. She was born on 25 December 1954 in Aberdeen. Dorothy Farquharson is her mother and Thomas Allison Lennox, father. Lennox was a student at the Royal Academy of Music, London during the 1970s. She took a course in harpsichord as well as the flautist piano for three years. The money she earned came from an allowance for students and went on part-time employment to augment her funds. Lennox decided to change her path in life when she was dissatisfied with her inexperience in the same way as other Royal Academy students. Lennox started out as a flute-player with the group Dragons Playground. The group didn't get to compete in the competition for talent New Faces on I.T.V. Between 1977 and 1980 she sang in The Tourists. A British pop band from the UK. She began to meet Dave Stewart, with whom formed the pop-duo Eurythmics. After that, Lennox started working on her solo first album Diva and it was released in 1992. It received lots of praise from critics and the public.
