Tina Tina Amanda AmandaMaureen excelled at sports and enjoyed rough, physical game. Her passion was coupled with a natural talent for performance. She received almost all Feis Award for Theater and Drama which her nation had to give. In her teens She was admitted into the Abbey Theater, where her love of classical theatre as well as operatic music was pursued. Charles Laughton became captivated with her stunningly beautiful eyes when seeing a screen test. Laughton, along with his co-star Erich Pommer changed Maureen FitzSimons's title changed her name to "Maureen O'Hara" and shortened her name to be used on the marquee, before casting for her role as an actress in Jamaica Inn, (1939). In contract with Laughton and Erich Pommer, her following film was planned to be made within America (The Hunchback of Notre-Dame (1939)) at RKO Pictures. Maureen had the opportunity to purchase her contract with Laughton when the movie was hugely successful. In the year 19 Maureen had already starred in two motion picture majors in the company of Laughton.
